This month’s film night is on Thursday 30th April.
The film will be “Woman In Gold” (12A), starring Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds and Daniel Brühl.
Sixty years after she fled Vienna during World War II, an elderly Jewish woman starts her journey to retrieve family possessions seized by the Nazis, among them Klimt’s famous painting The Lady in Gold. She embarks upon a major battle that takes her to the heart of the Austrian establishment and the U.S. Supreme Court and that forces her to confront difficult truths about the past along the way. A remarkable true story of one woman’s journey to reclaim her heritage and seek justice for what happened to her family.
The film is scheduled to start at 7.30 pm so meet in the foyer of the Ipswich Film Theatre in the Corn Exchange at around 7.10 pm. You can book online on the IFT website or buy tickets on the night.
There’s the option of going for a drink afterwards in Arlington’s Brasserie on Museum Street. New and prospective members are very welcome to come along.
