IOG AGM – YOUR CHANCE TO GET INVOLVED

The IOG AGM will start promptly at 8pm on Monday 21st November at St Michael’s Community Centre, 23 Upper Orwell Street, Ipswich.

The entrance to the hall (which is at the back) is through a gate to the right of the church part of the building as you look at it. The church is on the right hand side of Upper Orwell Street as you are going up the road towards the junction with St Helen’s Street (towards The Regent). There is no parking at the church but there are several public car parks in the area along with some on street parking in some of the surrounding streets. The hall is booked from 7:30pm, so members can arrive from that time ready for the meeting to start at 8pm.

Please note that this meeting is only open to full members who have paid their subscription for the current membership year.

For those of you who have not attended the AGM before, it is usually a fairly relaxed meeting but there are some important business matters to cover (like the election of the committee, membership fees, the IOG accounts, etc). Most importantly, this is your chance to have your say about the running of the IOG and to get involved.

If there is something about the group that you would like discussed at the meeting, please speak to Charles by Wednesday 16th November so it can be added to the agenda.

All posts on the committee are up for election and are open to any member so this is an ideal opportunity to get involved with the running of the group.

Members, come along and get involved!

CYCLING SEASON

The regular IOG evening cycle rides have all restarted for the spring/summer season.

There are different levels of cycle rides to choose from:

The easy bike rides on certain Monday evenings are suitable for less experienced cyclists. The distance will be 12-15 miles and the pace will be adjusted to suit the participants. Meet 6.15 for 6.30 at the Greyhound Public House, nr. Christchurch Park. See group emails for specific dates and details or contact Robin Richardson (the event organiser).

Wednesday evening cycle rides cover distances of15-26 miles at a moderate pace. Depending on participants there are usually two differently paced rides. See the programme for more details or contact Dave Pinckard (the event organiser).

Details of the irregular fast-paced “Out-of-Order” Monday evening cycle rides are circulated through the group email list on an ad hoc basis by Albert Rafel (the event organiser). These rides are for experienced cyclists.
