Glen led 16 of us on a 10-mile walk from Bury St Edmunds. Jasper the dog joined us, wearing a bright green jumper and fitted with a GPS tracker. We briefly discussed fitting a tracker to a few of our more ‘wayward’ members…
Heading out from our town centre car park, we initially walked around the massive new Marham Park housing estate. Fortunately, it wasn’t long before we found some countryside.
We walked through three pleasant villages – Fornham St Martin, Fornham St Genevieve and Fornham something else…
Our walk leaders, Glen and Christina, donned hi-vis to lead us along a particularly busy stretch of road. (If you look closely at the picture below, you might catch a glimpse of what might be a recently escaped macaque monkey in the background).
We then headed back to Bury towards the towering sugar beet factory.
Post-walk drinks were at the Mason’s Arms pub. We sat in their covered courtyard where it was surprisingly warm under the outdoor heaters. Another good day. Thanks Glen.
