On the last day of June, Sarah and Simon led a small group of IOGers on a 14.5-mile circular walk from Snape Maltings. The weather was better than forecast – warm with just a little bit of light drizzle in the morning.
We followed the Sandlings Walk to Friston across some lovely wildflower meadows and then on to Thorpeness, where we had lunch on the grass by the Meare.
In the afternoon, we walked south along the coast and skirted around Aldeburgh before returning to Snape along the Sailors’ Path through Black Heath Wood.
Post-walk drinks at the Plough and Sail at Snape Maltings were very welcome.
Thanks to Sarah and Simon for a good day out.
