Kesgrave and Martlesham – Saturday 7 August

Text and pics contributed by Sally L.

Despite the rain ten other walkers and a dog joined me on my first walk around Kesgrave and Martlesham, which was about five and a half miles in length. We began by walking past the gravel pit and the pump house, with its painting of St Francis of Assisi, then followed the path through paddocks of horses and alongside Butlers Brook towards the Martlesham Red Lion. We returned via Martlesham Common and Portal Woods. Although we got very wet it was nice to stretch our legs and get some fresh air before visiting The Farmhouse pub for a drink at the end of the outing.
