Sally’s Martlesham Creek walk – Saturday 26th February

What a beautiful day for a walk!

On a crisp, sunny morning fourteen of us set off for a five-mile walk around Martlesham Creek. After walking across Martlesham Heath, we zig-zagged our way down to the River Deben. The tide was very low and there was a lovely view across to Woodbridge Tide Mill. While it was muddy in places, it was not too bad considering the awful weather we had had the previous week. We then wandered along the river bank and up to Martlesham Church where the snowdrops were nearly over but there was a lovely carpet of crocuses.

Finally we meandered back to the Black Tiles for a drink sitting outside in the sun. What bliss for February!
