Teesdale Trip: Sunday 15th September

People made many different plans for the last day of our trip because the weather forecast was dire. In the end, it didn’t really turn out that bad – we could see rain sweeping across the valley at times but it mostly missed us all.

Some of the group went to explore Eggleston Hall Nursery and Gardens with its beautifully maintained vegetable garden before walking back to Romaldkirk along the Teesdale Way via Cotherstone.
Others walked along the Teesdale Way into Barnard Castle and back via the other side. It was very pretty and the town was a contrast to the countryside before and after.
As it was the last night, we met up for one final meal at the Middleton Hotel in Middleton-in-Teesdale.
A final Jenga competition took place back at the house and the final was hotly contested between Sarah and Michelle.

It was a packed week of walks, food, company and entertainment. Our thanks go to Glen and Christina for organising and also to everyone else involved in making this trip a huge success.
