It felt like a perfect summer evening for a stroll. Twenty-two IOGers and Anneliese’s little dog Newbie joined me at the Old Ipswich Rd in Claydon.
We soon climbed up a hill past an old quarry, then it was a loop round field paddocks with friendly horses and alongside fields offering magnificent views onto the wide and open Akenham countryside. The ambience felt tranquil, serene.
We proceeded through a wooded area, then through an urban area featuring some neat and well -maintained gardens with an abundance of summer roses and other flowers, before joining the High St where we had a drink in the spacious beer garden of the Hungry Horse Pub. It is a cheap and cheerful pub and popular with families. I can recommend their Nachos Muchas Grandes which are very tasty.
Thank you all for coming along and for making this event memorable.
