The Kinder Egg walk on Friday 26th April came about because I’d never walked the “back” (northern) edge of Kinder Scout and this seemed like a fun (albeit slightly bonkers) way to do it. Luckily, some mad people decided to come along with me.
It involved walking up on to the Kinder Plateau and all the way around the edge with detours to visit Kinder’s three trig points (that bit was Simon’s idea) before coming back down by the same route, about 20 miles and approximately 1000 m of ascent in total.
The walk wasn’t egg shaped – it was dubbed the Kinder Egg walk because Lisa automatically associated the word “Kinder” with chocolate eggs. So we took a Kinder Egg with us (because why not?!). It makes an appearance in some of the group photos.
Thanks to everyone who joined me on this walk – you were all fabulous company and the egg really enjoyed its special day out!
