It was a dull start on this Saturday morning, when a group of five cycling enthusiasts set off on a ride of around 25 miles from Ipswich town centre via Bourne Park to Hadleigh High Street.
The route to Hadleigh led along the scenic national cycle route 1, where we only encountered a little traffic.

At around 11am, the sun came out, adding greatly to the fun of being out and about. Unlike the last time we went to Hadleigh, there were thankfully no technical problems or punctures.
We spent almost two hours at Huffers cafe, which was already busy with people having an early lunch when we got there at around 11.30am. I don’t recall anybody opting for cake this time – I might need to rename my cycle rides!

The return route led us along the equally scenic national cycle route 48, which proved very hilly in parts. It led through some pretty little villages like Whatfield and Flowton.
A lovely day in excellent company.
