Teesdale Trip: Saturday 14th September

Walk text contributed by Clare; pics by Kate, Jean and Clare.

Today was a waterfall-filled day for most people with several groups venturing out for different length walks in the same area.

It was a very windy day as the wind funnelled down the valley, buffeting us constantly.

Most people visited Low Force…
…and High Force.
Some people did an 8-mile circular walk along the Pennine Way (again), taking in both waterfalls before stopping for lunch with a view back down the valley.
On the other side of the valley after crossing the river at Cronkley Bridge, a pleasant walk along pasture and small tracks led us back to Bowlees, where soup, tea and cake were consumed in the Visitor Centre.
Suitably refreshed, we went for a further 1-mile return walk to Gibson’s Cave and Summerhill Force before returning to Romaldkirk.
