Lou’s Needham Lake walk – Wednesday 11th February

Text and pic contributed by Paul S.

A pleasant walk out from Needham Lake on a foggy day, led by Lou. Avoiding the low road bridge, which is constantly struck by vehicles, we opted for the cattle path under the railway which is constantly struck by IOG heads. Heading up into the fog we passed the top of the old quarry before stopping for a snack, apparently near Darmsden Church, although it could have been a combine harvester for all we could see! Lower down we followed the Gipping, a path I hadn’t been on before, muddy but sunny now.

Back at the lake a couple of us had a coffee at the recommended and busy café. Many thanks to Lou and for everyone who came.
