Ten hardy souls were not deterred by the early rain. The weather forecast proved to be accurate and the rain stopped by mid-morning. We caught a brief glimpse of a rainbow.
However, it was a bit damp underfoot in places. Some paths were very muddy and slippery. At one point we had to climb over a gate to bypass a flooded section of footpath.
Some of us enjoyed a brief drink stop at The Village Maid in Bradfield (with free mini roast potatoes – very welcome). We later found a trig point that marked the dizzy height of 36m above sea level.
Another good day in good company; thanks to everyone who joined us.
